Overview
Explore the wonders of Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s premier wildlife safari park. Murchison Falls Park happens to be the only game park that is found in the Northwestern side of Uganda and is strategically situated in that en-route, you will combine your tour with a visit to Ziwa Rhino in Nakasongola.
This 3-day tour is enough for you to experience the best of Murchison Falls National Park diverse wildlife and the target experiences include guided game drive and boat cruise. En-route, you will have the best of rhino tracking –go search for rhinos in the wild while on a foot and with company of an experienced guide.
A Game drive in Murchison Falls Park will be perfectly enjoyed using a private car with a pop up roof and you will search for diversity of mammals. The likely mammals to see on a game drive here include the giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, lions, hartebeest, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, and more.
A boat cruise tour is entirely included for you to explore the Victoria Nile. It will enrich you with incredible sights of aquatic species including hippos, crocodiles and water bird species.
Murchison Fall Park is the biggest of all existing game parks in Uganda, expanding over 3840sq.km. It shelters a huge concentration of attractions including the powerful waterfalls –Murchison Falls, 76 mammal species, 451 species of birds and a lot more.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: Departure from Kampala for Murchison Falls Park, enjoy Ziwa Rhino Trek
After you have enjoyed breakfast, you will be picked by your safari guide. This day is fully dedicated for you to travel to your destination –Murchison Falls National Park which is found in Northwestern Uganda.
Getting to Murchison Falls Park will last for about 6-7 hours and on this day, accessing the park will involve driving from Kampala via Luweero route. En-route, you will branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to enjoy walking excursion as you search for rhinos in their natural habitat.
From Ziwa, you will head up to Masindi to have lunch in one of the best restaurants/hotels. After lunch, you will continue up to the lodge in Murchison Falls NP.
Day 2: Full day activities include game drive & boat cruise
Depart from your lodge by around 6:00am and set off via the Northern area where you will have variety of wildlife to see at the comfort of your rental car. The 2-3 hour game drive through the Northern game track allows you come across diverse wildlife such as the Rothschild giraffes, bush elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards (for keen or lucky visitors), antelope families like bushbucks, hartebeest, kobs and lots of oribis.
When you drive back, you will have a leisurely lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will perfectly end the day with a boat cruise on Victoria Nile. As you ride on the Nile River, keep a close eye on the aquatic life such as hippos, crocodiles and water birds.
Once you reach the base of the falls, have great time to take photos of the falls. Later, you may proceed with a hike to the top of the falls, a short trek of about 45 minutes. At the top of the falls watch the powerful Murchison Falls as it tries squeezing itself in a narrow rock of about 7-8m.
You will have great time taking pictures of Murchison Falls and later, board your rental car. Drive back to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.
Day 3: Depart
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and after, you will pack your luggage in the car ready to get back to Kampala/Entebbe. En-route, you will have lunch and also a chance to buy some fresh fruits.
