Overview
7 days Uganda exclusive gorillas and Kenya migration safari is an amazing safari that will give you a thrill of 2 countries with their iconic attractions which are so rare and unique. You will have a touch of Afromontane where you will be tracking mountain gorillas in their virgin green forests and this will be combined with open savanna where you will experience the great migration of wildebeests.
Uganda has more habituated gorilla families which are ready for tracking and the tracking is done with ease compared to Rwanda and Congo. You will also have a touch of cultures for both countries and surely this will be the greatest of your time. Seeing wildebeests migrate from Tanzania’s Serengeti national park to Kenya’s Masai Mara is a sensational moment, the migration attracts savanna predators which are; lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and vultures. Seeing a lion bring down a wildebeest or a cheetah chase a gazelle, that experience can never leave your memory. The trip will start from Uganda and end in Kenya.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park
You will be welcomed by our driver guide who will be waiting to receive you at the Airport, he will greet you, take you through the itinerary and then hit the road to Bwindi national park which is located in the southern part of Uganda. It is about 9 hours on the road but it is full of fun, due to rolling hills, green vegetation and homesteads of the people and this will keep your eyes awake and wowing at the same time. You will have stopover at Kayabwe for Equator experience, thereafter, embark on the road to Bwindi national park. The second stopover will be in Mbarara for lunch, you will have a local menu or continental depending on what you want, you will later roll southwards to catch the green forests, you will arrive in the evening hours, connect to your lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community experience
Arise in the morning, greet your intestines with a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about Uganda gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi. You will be assigned a gorilla family to track, and the ranger as well who will be ready to take you to your gorilla family in Bwindi national park. You will spend 1hour on a cold ground under thick canopies, watching the gorillas do their chores in the wilderness. There other forest entertainers like birds, they will spice up your day with sweet melodies and this surely will mark your day remarkable. After returning to the lodge to freshen up, you will head to the Batwa community to have a touch of the Batwa and enjoy their stories. You will later head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe and fly to Kenya
On this day, you will arise in the morning, grab breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Entebbe to catch a flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, our driver guide will take you to the booked hotel, check in, have dinner and have an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park
Arise in the morning on a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide who will transfer you to Lake Nakuru for yet another adventure. You will arrive in the afternoon hours, check in the lodge, have a hot lunch, relax a bit and head to the jungle for an evening game drive. You will enjoy the wildlife especially buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, elephants among others, you will also be thrilled by the beautiful scenery of Lake Nakuru that is always surrounded by flamingos. You will later retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Game drive and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
You will wake up in the early morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the jungle to catch the animals when they are still very busy. You will spot lions, buffaloes, rhinos, giraffes, birds, impalas, gazelles, zebras to mention but a few and thereafter, you will bid a farewell to Lake Nakuru and head to Masai Mara national reserve. You will have lunch on the way in a local restaurant and then proceed to Masai Mara, arriving in the evening hours, check in the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Full day Masai Mara
This is another beautiful day for your adventure where you will wake up on a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and then head to the park headquarters where you will find a ranger waiting for you and get detached from then the world and pursue wildlife deep in the jungle. You will be welcomed by endless plains of Mara which are decorated by herds of buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards and rhinos and these are the Africa’s Big 5animals, you will proceed with the search of other wildlife for example zebras, giraffes, cheetahs among others. You will later proceed to Mara River to have a one on one encounter with wildebeests migration, the wildebeest migration attracts savanna carnivores which are; lions, leopards, hyenas, vultures among others, you will enjoy a picnic lunch while you are surrounded by herds of wildebeests, buffaloes, zebras, lions and other animals and in the evening, you will retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Check out and departure
On the last day of 7 days Uganda exclusive gorillas and Kenya Migration safari, you will wake up on a lazy breakfast, enjoy the ambiance of the lodge, check out at leisure and head to Nairobi.
