Overview.
3 days gorilla trekking tour begins and ends in Rwanda. It’s mainly for gorilla lovers and it will take you to famous Virunga National Park in eastern D.R. Congo. This park is located in the Virunga massif neighboring Mgahinga and Volcanoes National Parks.
Gorilla trekking since it’s the main activity will reward you with a chance to spend an hour in their sight. You can opt to take optional activities like city tours in either Kigali or Goma, take a community tour, and more.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: Head to Virunga National Park from Kigali, Rwanda
Meet and greet the guide driver of our company who will brief you about the tour and immediately begin the way to Virunga NP from Kigali city. Here, you will enjoy sightseeing in the surroundings covered with beautiful hills and green vegetation. Arrive and head to the lodge booked.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
Wake up and head to the briefing point where you meet fellow trekkers, park rangers, and Porters. Receive the rules and regulations, get to know about the dress code, the time the experience will take, and more.
Trekking will begin immediately with a great team of park guides, Porters, escorts, and more. Trekking will last for 8 hours which includes an hour spent with the gorillas following their movements. While in the forest, meet other animals like monkeys, reptiles, and more.
Day 3: Head back to Kigali City
Leave the lodge immediately after breakfast and head back to Kigali crossing the Gisenyi border. At this point, the guide driver will help you through the immigration office and later on depending on your departure flight have a short city tour. Be dropped at the airport later on and that marks the end of your 3 days safari.
