Overview
5 days luxury gorilla trekking in Rwanda where you will be sleeping in high-end safaris lodges which provide sensational services and creating undying memories. the safari will entirely focus on gorillas in their natural habitat, you will also visit Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey gorilla fund, you will engage in the community to have an extra touch of the Rwandan culture, you will enjoy the spectacular view of the Rwandan terrain and this will prove to you why it is called the land of a thousand hills.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and City tour
On your arrival, our company representative will be ready at the Airport waiting to receive you, he will take you the briefing about your stay in Rwanda and there immediately indulge in city tour. You will visit different artisans, visit Genocide memorial center, you will engage in local markets, and thereafter, retire to your hotel for relaxation and dinner.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes national park and visit Ibyi’wacu cultural village
On this beautiful day, you will wake up in the morning, grab yourself a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to Volcanoes national park a home to mountain gorillas, you will drive in the countryside enjoying the beauty of the undulating landscape, you will arrive in the park at around 12pm, check-in, have lunch and in the evening you will visit Ibyi’wacu cultural village this is also known as the gorilla guardian village. You will enjoy the dances, history of Rwanda, naming, you will also buy some souvenirs in case you need some, later in the evening you will retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking
The long awaited day is here, you will wake up in the morning, enjoy a delightful breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to Kinigi information center for a briefing about gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes national park. You will be assigned a gorilla family to track, you will be allocated a ranger guide who will lead you to the gorilla family to track, the ranger guide will be answering all questions in the wilderness, you will spend 1hour with gorillas once you meet them, you will take pictures, videos and later return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.
Day 4: Visit Ellen DeGeneres Campus
On this day, you will arise at leisure, have a mouthwatering breakfast and later head to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus where you will be taught more about the gorilla conservation, behaviors and habits of gorillas, you will meet researchers and different conservationists who will give you a deeper understanding of mountain gorillas and why they should be preserved for the future. You will have a great engagement and so educative and you will develop much love for the mountain gorillas. You will enjoy your last night in the wilderness.
Day 5: Check out and departure
On the last leg of your safari, you will check out of the lodge after a hefty breakfast and transfer back to Kigali. You will traverse through a beautiful land of Rwanda as you reflect on the memories you made in the past few days, you will later arrive in Kigali, have lunch and be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home or to other destinations.
