Overview
3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking from Mbarara with pick up from the lodge by the safari driver guide who will shortly brief you about the safari then later set off for the drive heading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In other words, the safari will proceed and end in Kampala and your safari driver guide will probably drop you off at the agreed location and mark it the end of your 3-day safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
In addition to the above, the safari will lead you to the most amazing primates for example red-tailed monkeys, varvets, and black and white colobus including great apes and the Gorillas. You will also visit one of the Bwindi communities for a cultural experience where you will interact with the Batwa people about their life experiences in the jungle. Nature walk in the forests of Bwindi will also be part of your tour during these 3 days of the tour. Expect to have several stopovers for different occasions during the transfers.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, community experience
On your day 1 of the safari our safari driver guide will meet you at the agreed location for pick up. He will brief you about the safari as you enjoy your delicious breakfast then after the drive head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive will take you about 5 hours and 37 minutes to get to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, continue, and check in with the booked lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, after enjoying your delicious tiffin, drive for the community experience where you interact with the Batwa people also known as the pygmy who used to spend their lifetime in the jungle. Hear stories from elders about how they used to survive while in the forest, enjoy their traditional music dance, and drama, and if interested you can also participate. Depending on your choice, visit the traditional healer and reveal the secret of how they used to treat their sick loved ones using herbs. After an amazing evening walk drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2. Mountain Gorillas trekking, Nature walk
Arise as early as possible in the morning have your breakfast then jump into your safari car head to the Park offices and present your trekking permit. The ranger guide will brief you about the jungle and arrange you in a group of eight people who are recommended to trek a given gorilla family. Three hours are provided for trekking with one hour in the presence of gorillas; watching their social behaviors and another 1 hour moving back to the starting point to meet your safari guide and drive back to the lodge.
After lunch you can opt to relax at the lodge depending on where you found the gorilla group in the morning or how tired you are, or do an evening community walk and grab a chance to spot birds and local Batwa people in case you missed out previous day. You can watch beautiful bird species and enjoy their sweet melodies and more interesting things.
Day 3. Depart Bwindi and drive back to Mbarara or Kampala
This day marks the end of your 3 days gorilla safari in Uganda, therefore, enjoy your early breakfast and check out of the lodge heading back to Mbarara or Kampala. You will have a stopover for lunch, there after proceed on the journey.
The next stopover will be in Kayabwe at the Equator for stunning views, take photos, and also visit the craft shop to buy some souvenirs to take home for remembrance. From there you will drive directly to Kampala or Entebbe and be dropped at any agreed location.
