Trip Overview
3 days trip to Rubondo Island national park is an amazing trip which will expose you to the Rubondo Island national park a home to chimpanzees, monkeys, birds and many more wildlife species. Some of the wildlife that dwell on the Island include; elephants, hippos, crocodiles among others. The Island is located on Lake Victoria and it covers about 457square kilometers. The park is still very remote with very minimal tourist visits thus giving a natural feeling with most of the nature being untampered with. Expect to enjoy sand bathing since the Island is famous for hosting beautiful white sand beaches.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Rubondo Island National Park
On the first day of 3 days trip to Rubondo Island national park, our driver guide will pick you from the airport or hotel, take you through the itinerary and then grab a flight to Mwanza where you will board a boat to Rubondo Island national park. Upon arrival in the park, you will be transferred to your hotel to check in, freshen up, have a hot meal and if time allows you will engage in the guided nature walk.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Launch Cruise
On this second day, you will wake up on a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to the briefing center where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking experience. You will spot birds, monkeys and after you have met the chimps, you will spend 1hour in their presence, take pictures and videos as you watch the chimps do their daily obligations. You will return to the lodge, have lunch and in the evening, engage in a boat cruise on Lake Victoria. You will enjoy the breathtaking views, take pictures of the sunset, and retire to the lodge at the dusk for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Guided Nature walk and Departure
Arise in the morning, greet your intestines with a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and go for a guided nature walk. You will spot some species that you might have missed during the game drive and then return to the lodge, check out and transfer to Arusha.
