Overview
The 5 days Tanzania wildlife and gorilla trekking in Uganda is a combined trip that brings you to experience the beauty of two countries in their iconic destinations. You will visit Serengeti national park to encounter Africa’s big 5 animals, visit Bwindi impenetrable national park for gorilla trekking experience. Half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas reside in Uganda in Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga national park. The gorillas in Bwindi are divided in four sectors that is Buhoma gorilla sector, Ruhija gorilla sector, Nkuringo gorilla sector and Rushaga gorilla sector. You will enjoy this epic wildlife safari, and expect to have undying memories. The trip can both start from Tanzania and end in Uganda or vice versa.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Serengeti National Park
On the first leg of your trip, you will be welcomed by your driver guide from the airport, he will greet you, take you through the itinerary and hit the road to Serengeti national park. The 4-5hours drive will expose you to the beauty of Tanzania where wildlife has secretly thrived for over million years. You will check in the lodge, freshen up and if time allows, you will do an evening game drive to have an insight about Serengeti.
Day 2: Full Day Serengeti
Wake up on a delicious breakfast, grab a packed lunchbox, meet your drive guide and transfer to the wilderness. You will visit central Serengeti in Seronera area where there is high concentration of animals. Expect to see all the Africa’s big 5 as you traverse the plains. You will see lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants. Other wildlife on your bucket list include; giraffes, cheetahs, wildebeests, hyenas, gazelles, birds among others. Lunch will be a picnic, continue with the game viewing as you head back to the lodge. Dinner under the stars will be waiting for you.
Day 3: Fly to Uganda and Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On this day, after a scrumptious breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Kilimanjaro international airport to catch a flight to Entebbe international airport in Uganda. Upon arriving at Entebbe, you will board a domestic flight to Kisoro or Kihiihi airstrip where the driver guide will be waiting to receive you and transfer you to the lodge. Check in the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
Arise in the early morning, enjoy your breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking experience in Uganda. You will be allocated a gorilla family to track and then head to the forest with a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorilla family. Upon finding the gorillas, spend 1hour in their presence, as you record every moment in the total silence of the forests. The feeling is magical yet true. Return to the park headquarters to meet your driver guide and pick your certificate and transfer back to the lodge. Freshen up, and if you want a community tour, join the Batwa cultural tour.
Day 5: Check out and Departure
On the last day of the 5 Days Tanzania wildlife safari and gorilla trekking in Uganda, you will wake up on a mouthwatering breakfast, check out and meet your driver guide and transfer back to Entebbe or make an easy exit to Rwanda. Rwanda is closer and if you want a quick international flight, you can head to Rwanda but if you have some time, you can drive to Entebbe to experience the beauty of Uganda.
