Overview
3 days Murchison falls national park safari is the perfect opportunity for you to adventure and enjoy with the chance to encounter Africa’s Big 5 which are; leopards, lions, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants.
With the trademark falls which are the strongest in the world and the beautiful rainbow, Murchison has savannah grassland which is perfect for animal and nature viewing in general. The 3 days promise an immersive experience amidst stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife.
When in Murchison expect to see lions, elephants, buffaloes and leopards and other animals like hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, bushbucks, giant forest hogs and rhinos via the sanctuary in Luweero; primates like the chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons; birds like hornbills, shoebill storks, king fishers, stranger weavers, regal sunbirds, fly catchers, green pigeons, robin chats, warblers; the beautiful scenery, world’s most powerful falls, and the vegetation in the oldest national park. The trip will start in Kampala via Luweero to Murchison and back to Kampala.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls via Ziwa sanctuary
Upon arrival to you will be met by a driver guide from Omangwa Safaris who will brief you on how you will move for the next 3days, after which you will set off for Murchison Falls National Park at 7:30am which will be 4-5hours via Luweero and your first stop will be at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to trek some black and white Rhinos with a guide which takes about 2-3hours depending on their location. Then you will have lunch and exit the sanctuary and continue to Murchison Falls National Park where you spend the night. You will check into a lodge in time for dinner after which you will rest as you wait for the next day.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruises
After breakfast you will head out to the jungle to catch animals when they are still very active, on your gam drive expect to spot leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants and your Big 5 list will be complete. You expect to see other animals for example giraffes, baboons, waterbucks and bushbucks, birds will be chirping in the tree brunches, later in the midmorning, you will return to the lodge for relaxation as you wait for a hot lunch. After lunch, you will head to Paraa dock, this is where you will launch for your cruise to the bottom of the falls which takes about 2hours to see water animals like crocodiles, waterbucks, hippos, warthogs, and bird species like the rare shoebill stork, hornbills, fly catchers, herons and king fishers with a guide to answer any questions you might have. After the cruise you will hike to the top of the Falls, where you will experience the pressure of the falls, with a view to die for, a rainbow and perfect spot for pictures. When done you will head back to your lodging, in time for for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Checkout and departure
An early breakfast will be enjoyed, you will then check out of your lodging and prepare for exit. As you drive out of the park, you will enjoy a game drive where you expect to see animals like leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, kobs, bushbucks, oribis, grey duikers and many more and pictures will be taken for memories. The drive will get you to the exit of the park and you will proceed for Kampala a journey which will take about 4-5hours with a lunch break in Luweero. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening, at an agreed point for drop off, which will mark the end of your 3 days boat cruise in Murchison falls national park.
