Tour Overview
1 day Ziwa Rhino tracking tour is a short tour that leads you the hoe of rhinos and birds in Uganda. This package is mainly for travelers who have a very limited time in Kampala and want to spend it in the wilderness. Ziwa rhino sanctuary is located in Nakasongola district just about 7km away from the Kampala-Gulu highway in Nakasongola-Nakitoma. It is about 3hours drive Kampala to the sanctuary. Normally this trip can be joined with Murchison falls national park.
Day’s Program
Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Return
On this 1 day Ziwa rhino tracking tour, our driver guide will pick you from the hotel or residence. He will brief you about the program and then hit the road. It is about 3hours drive from Kampala, you will drive through the streets of Luweero where most of the fresh fruits are sold on the roadside, connect to Nakasongola and branch off to the sanctuary. You will check in at the gate, get a ranger guide and head to the wilderness where yo1hour will be spent with rhinos as you learn more facts about them. Other wildlife to encounter in the sanctuary are; Jackson’s hartebeests, kobs, oribis, zebras, giraffes, pangolins, warthogs, bush-pigs, aardvarks, waterbucks. Ziwa rhino sanctuary is known famous hosting over 350 bird species and if you are a good birder can spot over 50 bird species. You will have a scrumptious lunch, proceed with the activity and thereafter, return to Kampala marking the end of your 1 day Ziwa rhino tracking tour.
