Safari Overview
8 days Rwanda exclusive safari is an amazing trip to Rwanda which will expose you 3 national parks that is Akagera national park, Volcanoes national park and Nyungwe forest national park. On this safari, expect to encounter the Big 5 which are leopards, lions, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants, you will have an encounter with mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and a tour of Rwandan culture. Day by Day Program
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Kigali
On the first day of your trip, our company representative will be at the Airport waiting to receive you with a card bearing your names and you will not miss to see him. After the greeting session, he will take you through the itinerary and thereafter hit the road to the hotel in Kigali. Depending on your time of landing, if you land early enough, you will do a city tour to catch a glimpse of Rwanda.
Day 2: Check out and transfer to Akagera National Park
After a scrumptious breakfast, check out of the lodge, your driver will be ready waiting for you at the reception and then transfer you to Akagera national park. You will drive northeastern part of the country, connect to your lodge, check in, have lunch, and relax as you feed your eyes with the beauty surrounding your lodge.
Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
Arise in the early morning, grab a cup of coffee, meet your driver guide, and head out to the jungle to catch the animals when they are very active. You will be welcomed by herds of buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, leopards and lion prides will be roaming the savanna hunting, other animals that will not miss on your list are; elands, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, birds to mention but a few. You will return to the lodge in the
mid morning, do a swimming, have lunch and then in the evening engage in the boat cruise where you will have an encounter of aquatic animals for example hippos, crocodiles, water birds and fascinating sunset pictures. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Check out and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Wake up on a scrumptious breakfast, check out, meet your driver guide and transfer to Volcanoes national park located in northwestern Rwanda. You will connect to your lodge, enjoy a hot lunch and relax. You may decide to do a cultural tour to gorilla guardian village also known as Ibyi’wacu cultural center to engage in the Rwandan culture.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Volcanoes National Park
On this day, you will arise in the morning, grab a scrumptious breakfast, and meet your driver guide who will transfer you to Kinigi information center where you will be assigned a gorilla family to track. You will be with a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorillas, you will spend 1hour in their presence, as you take pictures and videos, thereafter you will return to the lodge freshen up, relax and have an overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
On this day, you will wake up in the morning enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast, check out of the lodge, meet your driver guide and transfer to Nyungwe national park. You will arrive in the afternoon, connect to your lodge, have lunch and relax at the lodge.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking
Arise in the morning, greet your intestines with a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to Uwinka reception center for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking experience which will last for about 3hours, including 1hour which includes an hour which you will spend with the chimpanzees. You will return to the lodge to freshen up, relax at the lodge and you have an option of engaging in a canopy walk.
Day 8: Check out and Departure
On the last day, you will wake up on a lazy breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide and transfer back to Kigali. You will have lunch en-route in Kigali, visit some shopping centers if you want to do a shopping. The driver guide will later drop you at the Airport thus marking the end of your safari.
