Overview
4 Days Rwanda gorillas and golden monkey trekking is one of the fascinating primate experience that will expose you to one of the most national park in Rwanda, the Volcanoes national park. The park adopted its name from the dormant volcanoes. The park lies in the heart of Africa and in East Africa where you can track endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. This trip is exclusively for gorilla trekking and golden monkeys. You will have an opportunity to track chimpanzees in Nyungwe national park as well. Therefore, in a span of 4 days, you will cover 3 types of primates that is mountain gorillas, golden monkeys and chimpanzees. These primates are all in virgin rangelands of Rwanda, fulfilling why Rwanda is called the land of a thousand hills.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the first leg of your safari, our company representative will pick you from the Airport, brief you about your safari and then hit the road to volcanoes national park. You will arrive in time for lunch, you will connect to your booked accommodation, check in, have lunch and relax.
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Tour
Arise in the morning, greet your intestines with a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda. Volcanoes national park is a home to endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. The park inhabits gorilla guardian village a place where former hunters were gathered and trained about conserving nature. You will track mountain gorillas, spend 1hour in their presence and then retire to the lodge to freshen up, get ready for the Ibyi’wacu cultural tour where Rwanda culture is exhibited, you will be entertained. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Arise in the morning, grab a mouthwatering breakfast, meet your driver guide and then head for the golden monkey trekking. Golden monkey trekking is not hectic as gorilla trekking, as the monkeys are found near in the bamboo forests. You will spend 1hur with them, taking pictures and videos and then retire to the lodge, freshen up, check out and transfer to Nyungwe national park to engage in yet another fascinating primate experience. You will have lunch en-route, connect to your lodge in the early evening hours, connect to your booked hotel, check in, and have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and departure
Another beautiful day here, where you will wake up on a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters to be briefed about chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe national park. You will be assigned a ranger guide who will help you to locate the troupe. After you have met the chimpanzees, you will take pictures and videos while you are under thick canopies with no other voices coming up, apart from those of chimpanzees, birds chirping and winds. It feels like a movie but it is a reality in making.
