Overview
10 days Rwanda wildlife safari is an exceptional safari that will expose to the full view of Rwanda, starting with Volcanoes national park which serves the best mountain gorilla trekking experience and golden monkey tracking, to Nyungwe forest national park for chimpanzee trekking, a touch of the beach experience on Lake Kivu in Gisenyi and the open savanna experience in Akagera national park where you will engage game drive and boat cruise on Lake Ihema. This Rwanda luxury trip is well balanced from the volcanic highlands, to thick forests, to beach life and to open savanna and then crowned with the selected cultural experiences.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali Rwanda
On this day, you will be welcomed by our company representative from the Airport, who will greet you, take you through the itinerary and then transfer you to the hotel in Kigali where you will check in, acclimatize as you embrace the new environment. You will enjoy the serenity of Kigali and then confirm that it is truly the land of a thousand hills.
Day 2: Kigali City tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the second day, you will arise on a scrumptious breakfast, check out of the lodge and head out for Kigali city tour. You will visit genocide memorial museum, local markets, you will thereafter have lunch and be transferred to Volcanoes national park, connect to your booked lodge, check in and relax. You will have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
Another beautiful day is here and ready for you to catch. You will enjoy Volcano continental breakfast, meet your driver guide and be transferred to Kinigi guest information center where you will be briefed about mountain gorilla trekking experience. it is here where you will be assigned a gorilla family to track, be assigned a ranger guide as well who will help you to locate the forest giants. The ranger will be answering all your questions and after you have encountered the gorillas, you will spend 1hour in their presence, watching closely how they feed, behave and how they associate. You will later retire to the lodge for relaxation, have lunch and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Golden Monkey tracking and Dian Fossey Visit
Arise in the morning, grab your breakfast, meet your driver guide and then be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about golden monkey trekking. Golden monkey tracking will take you about 1hour to 3hours including 1hour which you will spend in the presence of these beautiful monkeys, you will later head to visit Dian Fossey tomb. After this experience, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Gisenyi and Lake Kivu Experience
Arise in the morning, greet your intestines with a scrumptious breakfast, check out of the lodge, meet your driver guide and transfer to Gisenyi where you will enjoy the touch of the beach. Arriving in the afternoon, connect to your booked hotel, check in, have lunch and later engage in the boat cruise on Lake Kivu. You will enjoy white sand beaches, later retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will wake up on a lazy breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park. You will be driven for about 4hours, arriving in the afternoon, connect to your booked lodge for relaxation, lunch, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking
Arise in the early morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast and head to the park for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Forest Park. You will be with the ranger guide who will lead you to the troupe. The ranger guide will also be answering all your questions about the wildlife in the park, you will spend 1hour with the chimpanzees, watching their movement, and how they associate, you will later return to the lodge, relax and here you have an option of doing a canopy walk where you will be on top of the forests and this stretches to 160 meters and being on this high altitude, you will be able to have a clear view of the park.
Day 8: Transfer to Kigali
On this day, you will check out of the lodge after a lazy breakfast and transfer to Kigali. You will arrive in the afternoon time, connect to your lodge, have lunch, relax and if you want to do some shopping you can or stay at the hotel in Kigali.
Day 9: Transfer to Akagera National Park and Evening Boat Cruise
Another day of adventure is here, you will wake up in the morning, enjoy a cup of coffee, check out and be transferred to Akagera national park which is about 3hours drive. You will arrive in the park and on your way you will encounter some wildlife, you will connect to your lodge, check in, have lunch and then head out for the boat cruise on Lake Ihema. You will retire to the lodge after a boat cruise experience, have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10: Game drive and departure
Arise in the morning, grab a scrumptious, meet your driver guide and transfer to the park to have an encounter with wildlife when they are still very active. You will be welcomed by herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and rhinos and these are Africa’s big 5. You will have an encounter with other wildlife of the park and thereafter, you will exit the park and head back to Kigali, have lunch and then be transferred to the Airport thus marking the end of your trip.
