Safari Overview
10 days Rwanda luxury safari is a purely luxury safari that is mostly liked by the travelers who want to enjoy Rwanda in total comfort. On this safari, you will explore the Rwanda national parks, and culture, relax at the beach especially when you engage in boat cruise o Lake Kivu. You will traverse Rwanda in the most comfortable way right from the 4*4 land cruiser to luxury accommodation and highly experienced driver guide. While you visit national parks, you will have a ranger guide as well. You will visit Akagera national park, Volcanoes national park, Nyungwe forest national park, Lake Kivu and engage in Kigali city tour.
Day by Day Program
Day 1: arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Hotel
On the first day of your safari, our driver guide will be at the airport waiting to receive you, he will welcome you to Rwanda, take you through your itinerary and then transfer you to the booked hotel, check in, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Akagera National Park
On the second day of your trip, you will wake up in the morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, check out of the hotel, meet your driver guide and head out for Kigali city tour. You will visit former King’s Palace, visit Genocide memorial center, Kimironko market and many artisans. You will have lunch and then head to Akagera national park which is in the Northeastern Rwanda, you will drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda, you will surely appreciate that Rwanda is a land of thousand hills. Upon arrival in the park, you will check in the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Akagera National Park
One of the best days of your trip is here, wake up in the morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarter where you will register, get a ranger guide and head to the jungle to catch the animals when they are still very active. You will enjoy the magical encounters with herds of buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants and rhinos and this is the list of Africa’s big 5. You will have an encounter with other wildlife for example Rothschild giraffes, zebras, elands, kobs, impalas, waterbucks and bush backs, birds to mentions but a few. You will return to the lodge to enjoy a hot lunch and relaxation as well as you get ready for yet another adventure in the evening. You engage in the boat cruise on Lake Ihema which is most visited lake in Akagera national park and this lake gives best views, it is a source of water for most of the wildlife in the park and expect to meet buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, hippos and crocodiles. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Check out and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On a lazy day, you will wake up on a delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge, meet your driver guide and transfer to Volcanoes national park which is in the northwestern part of the country. You will traverse the country, have an en-route lunch, arrive in Volcanoes national park in the evening time, you will check in and have an overnight stay.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Tour
Arise in the early morning, greet your intestines with a scrumptious breakfast, meet your guide and transfer to park headquarters where you will be briefed about gorilla trekking
etiquette. You will be assigned a gorilla family and the ranger guide who will transfer you to the off the beaten paths of the park, on an encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will spend 1hour in the presence of the gorillas, take pictures and videos, you will later return to the lodge to freshen up and in the evening you will visit Iby’iwacu cultural tour. You will engage in Rwandan dances, singing and ancient culture. Retire to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
On this day, you will wake up on a lazy breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park. Nyungwe national park is famous for hosting chimpanzees and other small primates like monkeys, baboons and beautiful sceneries. You will check in the lodge upon arrival, you will check in the lodge, have lunch and then relax at the lodge.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking and Relaxation
Another day full of adventure is here where you will wake up in the morning, grab a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to Uwinka reception center where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking
etiquette. You will have 1hour in the presence of the chimpanzees as they will leaving their nests, baby chimpanzees will be playing around the trees, birds will be chirping, you will spend 1hour with chimpanzees, return to the lodge to freshen up and relax. If you want to do a canopy walk in Nyungwe you are free to do it.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Kivu
Another day full of adventure is here. You will wake up on a lazy breakfast, check out of the lodge, meet your driver guide who will be at the reception, he will head to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi. You will drive for about 4hours with stopovers for beautiful sceneries. Upon arrival, you will connect to the booked resort, check in, have lunch and relax. Lunch and dinner will be served on the appropriate time.
Day 9: Boat Cruise on Lake Kivu and Transfer to Kigali
Another day full of adventure is here for you to grab. After a scrumptious breakfast, you will head to the boarding point and set off for a cruise. You will spend about 2hours on water, enjoying the views of the lake, white sand beaches an experience that really relaxes your mind. You will retreat and head back to the lodge, have a scrumptious lunch and transfer to Kigali the cleanest city in Africa. You will visit different touristic centers including the former Kind’s palace, Genocide memorial center, artisans and different market centers where you will engage with locals, interact with them and have a light moment. At the dusk, you will retreat back to the hotel, have dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Departure
On the last leg of the safari, you might want to visit different markets for shopping in case you want to shop. The driver guide will be ready to take you around and thereafter he will drop you at the Airport thus marking the end of your trip.
